Export destination
Beer Export to Nigeria
Beer wholesale exports to Nigeria
Nigerian demand mirrors Ghana in style — export-strength stout and international lager lead — but the scale is different, and full 40 ft containers or repeating container programmes are the normal shape of a Nigerian requirement rather than trial pallets.
Two practical points define this lane. First, port congestion at the Lagos terminals has historically added unpredictable dwell time, and Lekki Deep Sea Port was developed in part to relieve it. Which terminal you nominate affects both cost and predictability, so name the discharge port on your inquiry rather than leaving it to be decided later. Second, Nigerian import regulation and foreign-exchange procedure for imports have both changed materially in recent years. We do not advise on either: your clearing agent and bank are the correct sources, and confirmation should be in hand before goods load.
For recurring requirements, a programme structure — agreed brands, agreed volumes, scheduled sailings — generally produces better procurement pricing than repeated spot inquiries, because stock can be positioned in advance rather than bought at the moment of order.

Documentation customarily prepared
The set below is what we typically prepare for this trade lane. It is not a statement of Nigeria's legal import requirements — those are destination-specific, they change, and your clearing agent is the correct source.
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading
- Certificate of origin
- Product specification sheet
- Insurance certificate (CIF shipments)
- Any pre-shipment or conformity documentation required by the importer’s clearing agent
