International Lager Wholesale

Pale lager is the backbone of international beer trade. It moves in volume, it is recognised everywhere, and it is the category most container programmes are built around.

International lager is where volume sits, and it is the category where loading economics matter most. Most brands in this group are available in both 330 ml glass and 330/500 ml cans, and the difference is not cosmetic: cans load more cases per pallet and weigh substantially less, which changes freight cost per case on long routes. Where your market accepts cans, the same brand in cans will usually land cheaper than the same brand in glass.

The second consideration is brand tiering. A container built entirely from premium labels carries a high landed cost per case and narrows the customer base at the other end. Most experienced buyers mix tiers deliberately — a premium anchor, a mainstream volume line, and one or two differentiated styles — so the assortment covers more than one price point in the destination market.
