Wholesale Beer in Cans

Cans move more litres per container than glass and are the practical format for long-haul and high-volume programmes.

Beer Cans in international trade

Temperature-controlled beer store with stainless kegs and palletised cases on racking

A canned load is lighter per litre than a bottled one, so more product fits within the same container payload limit. For buyers shipping to distant markets, that difference is often the whole commercial case for the format: the freight cost per case falls, and the load is usually constrained by floor positions rather than by weight.

Cans are also more robust in transit and stack more densely on a pallet, which reduces damage claims and simplifies mixed-load planning. Where a brand offers both formats, a canned SKU frequently produces a materially better landed cost even where the ex-works price is similar.

Multipack configuration varies widely — shrink-wrapped trays, cluster packs and plain cases all appear across the portfolio. The configuration recorded against each SKU is the one quoted.

Trade questions

Why choose cans over bottles for export?
Lower packaging weight per litre, which means more product within the same container payload limit and a lower freight cost per case. Cans also stack more densely and are less prone to transit damage. The trade-off is brand and market preference: some destinations expect glass for premium positioning.
Which multipack configurations are available?
It varies by brand and production origin — shrink-wrapped trays, cluster packs and plain cases all occur across the portfolio. The units-per-case figure shown against each SKU in the catalogue is the recorded configuration for that SKU, and it is confirmed at quotation.
Do canned loads fill a container differently?
Usually yes. Canned loads tend to be limited by floor positions rather than by payload weight, which is the opposite of most bottled loads. That changes how a mixed container should be composed, and the container builder reports which constraint binds for the specific lines selected.
Product availability is subject to stock, destination, packaging specification, applicable trademark rights and territorial distribution restrictions.
