Beverage Cans in international trade

Case and pallet build follow can size rather than brand. A 250 ml energy drink is customarily packed 24 to a case, 14 cases to a layer and 11 layers to a pallet — 154 cases, or 3,696 cans. A 330 ml soft drink runs 24 per case at 12 × 10, giving 120 cases. A 500 ml can drops to 12 per case and 108 cases per pallet. Every figure is confirmed against the SKU before it reaches a quotation.
Against glass the difference is stark: a 330 ml beer bottle builds to 96 cases per pallet. Canned lines put substantially more saleable volume on the same footprint, and that gap is usually what settles the format question for a distant market.
Cans are rarely the binding constraint on weight. A 20 ft container takes 11 Euro pallet positions against a 28,200 kg payload ceiling; a 40 ft takes 25 against 26,600 kg. Canned loads normally fill the floor before they approach either limit, which is what makes them straightforward to combine with heavier lines in one consolidated container.
