Beer Export to Kenya

Mombasa serves Kenya and, through the Northern Corridor, a substantial landlocked hinterland including Uganda, Rwanda and eastern DRC.

Beer wholesale exports to Kenya

Kenya’s imported beer demand is led by international premium lager and by Asian brands serving a large hospitality and expatriate sector — Nairobi and Mombasa both support Japanese, Thai and Indian restaurant channels that need those specific labels rather than a general premium lager.

The Northern Corridor is what makes Mombasa strategically interesting. Cargo destined for Kampala, Kigali or beyond discharges here and moves inland by road or by the standard gauge railway. That inland leg adds time and cost that a buyer planning only to the port will underestimate, and it consumes shelf life. If your ultimate destination is inland, tell us at inquiry stage — allocation of longer-dated stock is straightforward when it is planned, and impossible to correct afterwards.

Kenya operates a pre-export verification of conformity regime for a range of imported goods. Whether and how it applies to your consignment is a question for your clearing agent; it must be settled before shipment, not during it.
